How Soil Impacts a Home's Structure and Creates Foundation Issues
The soil surrounding your home has a huge impact on its structure and stability. East Tennessee is prone to clay-based soil, which swells or shrinks depending on weather conditions. Too much water and the soil expands, causing shifts and disruptions to your structure. Too little water and the soil contracts, causing similar problems.
We offer a plate anchor wall system to stabilize your home. This system helps homeowners avoid the cost and disruption of foundation wall repair or replacement.
Here’s how our system works:
- Holes are excavated at intervals for earth plates around your foundation.
- Threaded steel rods are driven through your basement wall and attached to earth plates.
- Wall plates are secured to the opposite end of the rods inside the basement.
- The plates are adjustable, meaning they can be tightened against the wall to force it into its original position.
With our system, there is relatively little excavation involved. Any excavation we do perform is promptly and neatly refilled after the job is finished, and all landscaping is painstakingly restored.
