Basement Waterproofing of a Cumberland Gap, TN Home
Challenge
Gary and Brenda bought their home in Cumberland Gap, TN over four years ago. Having no prior knowledge of a waterproofing issue, they were shocked to experience heavy leaking after a rainstorm hit last summer. After taking up their carpet and attempting to fix the problem, another rainstorm hit, devastating all areas of the home that are underground. The home began to leak badly along all of the walls of the basement. After assessing all of the damages, they also noticed mold patches along the baseboard. Desperate for a permanent solution to their basement leaking issue, Brenda and Gary called the professionals at Master Services for a free inspection and estimate.
Sales Representative Josh Sulfridge sat down with the couple to discuss their options, providing them with an accurate estimate and plan for the project.
Solution
Primary Foreman Nick Crozier began the project by installing an EZ Flow and WaterGuard Drainage System around the perimeter of the basement to collect the incoming water. This Drainage System collects incoming water and directs it to a Sump Pump, which then pumps the water out of the basement to a designated nonproblematic area on the property. A LawnScape was installed outside of the basement to allow rainwater to flow farther from the home and prevent it from being drained directly outside the basement walls. Finally, an IceGuard was placed on the sump pump drainage pipe outside to prevent freezing pipes in the cold East Tennessee winters.
Gary and Brenda couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Now they are water free and worry free- even when East Tennessee rainstorms come!
