Bulls Gap, TN Crawl Space Renovation
Challenge
Homeowners were experiencing water damage in their Bulls Gap, TN crawl space. The water had been a continuous issue and was causing significant amounts of mold growth. Fortunately, the humidity and water were not severe enough to cause any noticeable damage to the floor joists or to other structural components within the crawl space, yet. The main source of the water entrance was the exposed dirt floor. The exposed dirt floor provided no barrier to the water rising from the ground into the area.
Solution
The job began with mold remediation to end the mold growth. Then, the dirt floor of the crawl space was covered with EZ Flow Drainage matting that redirects water to the sump pump. Once to the pump, the water is pumped out of the area and away from the home. The drainage matting was then covered with CleanSpace Liner, which creates the waterproof barrier between the dirt floor and the crawl space. CleanSpace Vent Covers and an EverLast Door were also installed to prevent alternative entrances for the water. The LawnScape Outlet was installed to prevent water from being drained directly beside the crawl space. Lastly, a Santa Fe Edge 2 dehumidifier was installed to control the humidity in the air, preventing any future mold growth.
