Foundation Repair in Birchwood, TN
Challenge
The foundation walls in this basement at a home in Birchwood, TN were damaged and displaying signs of bowing. This is not a negligible problem and will only worsen with the passage of time, creating the need for expensive and disruptive repair work. It was good that this homeowner contacted us relatively early so we could halt the damage and get a stabilization system in place.
Solution
Our inspector and production team knew that the damage could be fixed with a relatively simple and minimally invasive process called Carbon Fiber Foundation Wall Reinforcement. This system relies on epoxy resin and carbon fiber strapping to strengthen damaged walls. First, the strapping is soaked in epoxy resin until it's thoroughly saturated. Next, the strapping is carefully applied to the wall and held there until it cures.
As it cures, the strap fortifies the wall and halts the buckling or bowing process! This convenient and quick method can be concealed with a coat of paint or drywall. No one ever has to know that the wall was ever damaged.
