Wall Plate Anchors rescued a foundation wall in Signal Mountain, TN
Challenge
In Signal Mountain, TN, Mark A. encountered a major challenge when their foundation wall started displaying signs of efflorescence and early bowing. This problem arose from excessive moisture in the nearby terrain, resulting in hydrostatic pressure. As time passed, the soil exerted pressure on the wall, leading to voids inside the basement. Worried about the situation worsening, he contacted one of our home inspectors, who promptly visited him, identified the underlying issue, and proposed a solution.
Solution
To tackle this challenge, the Master Services installation team installed three Wall Plate Anchors and applied Carbon Fiber Armor strips to an adjacent wall for additional support. Initially, our crew drilled holes from the basement to a trench located 5-6 feet outside. However, we encountered an additional difficulty as we had to dig through a cement slab to reach the soil underneath. Subsequently, a rod was inserted into each hole, and both ends were securely fastened using our GeoLock and Plated anchors. By effectively utilizing the soil as a support system, we successfully mitigated the issue of further pressure. Despite the complexity of the task, the procedure was efficiently conducted, resulting in minimal disruption to both the interior and exterior of the property.
