Basement walls restored thanks to wall anchors in Soddy-Daisy, TN
Challenge
Maggie and Travis M. are a couple living in sunny Soddy-Daisy, TN. Recently, they noticed a bad smell coming from behind the drywall inside their basement, raising concerns about possible mold proliferation. Upon removing part of the drywall, they quickly reached out to Master Services for a professional assessment. Our Home Inspector identified that the core issue was a wall suffering from hydrostatic pressure, which required stabilization to prevent further damage.
Solution
Recognizing the need for a lasting solution, we recommended the installation of four wall anchors to reinforce the wall. Our crew successfully installed Wall Plate Anchors to tackle the problem caused by excessive moisture from the nearby terrain. The anchors stabilized the wall by connecting it to the stable surrounding soil, significantly improving the overall structural integrity of the house. The installation process was carried out efficiently, first by digging a trench outside the basement wall, then by connecting each wall anchor to our GeoLock using a metal rod, thus using the surrounding soil as a stabilizer. This procedure caused minimal disruption to both the interior and exterior of the property. Maggie and Travis were extremely happy with the end result and started decorating their basement as soon as our crew was done!
