Our team visited a home in Maryville, TN to examine some sagging beams in the crawlspace.

With time and lack of care, beams often rot, shift and settle, especially when already undersized for the dimension of the load. To fix the problem, we installed our SmartJacks system, a high capacity adjustable steel pier designed to stop settling and even raise the house floor back to where it was.

This solution offered an immediate and long lasting answer to a pending problem that would have gotten incrementally worse with time.

Maryville, TN Basement Gets Proper Protection from Flooding

Water damage from continual flooding was eating away at the corners of David and Shirley H.’s Maryville, TN basement. The couple had tried to cover up the areas with some waterproof materials, but the “quick fix” was not holding up. Upset at the state of disrepair, David heard about Master Dry Foundation and Waterproofing Specialists from a coworker who had used them to repair their crawl space. David and Shirley were happy that the company was local, and they were eager for answers. They contacted Master Dry to schedule an inspection.

Master Dry’s waterproofing specialist Scott Frazier had seen similar water damage issues time and time again, so he was able to quickly formulate a plan of repair for David and Shirley’s basement. He recommended installing a WaterGuard drainage system to collect and redirect the water into a SuperSump sump pump. The pump would expel the water from the basement through a drainage line, equipped with IceGuard protection, and into the LawnScape outlet far away from the basement. Foreman Cory Blalock and his crew finished the project without delay!

David and Shirley can finally relax, knowing that water will no longer erode the bottom of their basement. The homeowners are happy to have a company they can trust for all their basement, foundation or crawl space repair needs. David and Shirley are happy to recommend Master Dry to their family and friends!

Crawl Space in Maryville, TN Kept Mold-Free With SaniDry CX

Herb P. of Maryville, TN had a beautiful brick home with just one flaw – a damp, moldy crawl space. He knew the harmful effects of moisture in the space and was desperate to maintain the cleanliness of his home. Herb researched his options online. He came across the Master Dry Foundation and Waterproofing Specialists website, and he was impressed by the many positive reviews from satisfied customers.

Crawl space expert David A. Kerr inspected Herb’s home and immediately recommended the products he knew would repair the damage beneath. To protect against mold, a SaniDry CX dehumidifier would dry out the space and mold spray would seal the deal. To keep excess water out, David suggested a SuperSump sump pump and a LawnScape outlet. David also suggested installing crawl space vent covers to help seal out the elements.

After foreman Cory Hyams and his team completed the crawl space repairs, Herb felt confident that no damage or contamination would weaken his house by way of his crawl space. He contributed his positive review to Master Dry’s website to tell other local homeowners about his positive experience with the company!

Foundation Shifting Disrupts Home in Maryville, TN

Homeowner Bernard S. of Maryville, TN could not ignore the clear signs of a foundation problem. There was an obvious crack in the exterior wall of his home, as well as an even larger crack in the steps leading up to his front door. Bernard was frightened for his family’s safety - a fall on those brick stairs would be extremely dangerous! And the crack in his wall would only grow larger and threaten the long-term stability of his house. Bernard had no choice but to contact a professional. He felt that Master Dry Foundation and Waterproofing Specialists would be the perfect contractor for the job!

Foundation repair expert Scott Frazier traveled to Bernard’s home for a free inspection. Shortly after, foreman Josh Williams and his team arrived to start working. The diagnosis? Push piers helped lift the foundation back into place. To secure the foundation, the crew also installed carbon fiber strips. These measures stopped the foundation shifting in its tracks and remediated the cracks in Bernard’s home.

Bernard no longer has to worry about injury to his loved ones or the destruction of his wall. He owes his peace of mind to Master Dry and the dedicated team that completed his foundation repair!

Basement Waterproofing to Prevent Mold in Friendsville, TN Home

Jon G., a homeowner in Friendsville, TN, had unseen black mold growing in his laundry room walls for years, before removing a section of sheet rock and discovering the problem. This issue had developed from a sub-par installation job, in which nothing had been done to prevent humidity gathering in the interior walls and allowing mold to thrive in the area.

Bobby Ewing, sales manager for Master Dry, went out to the home to inspect the damage and decide exactly what needed to be done to fix the problem in Jon's home. Bobby came to the conclusion that the Master Dry team needed to come into the home and cut away the lower portion of the basement walls, where the mold was found, and install a piping system called WaterGuard to keep the space dry. In addition, he suggested that a SuperSump system be installed to pump out any water that might find its way into the basement as well as a LawnScape downspot and an IceGuard discharge pipe to route any water from the gutters or the sump pump away from the foundation of the house.

Based on Bobby's suggestions, foreman Michael Geasland and his team installed all of the products mentioned in order to solve the mold problem and prevent any future issues. Additionally, electrician Tobin Herron visited the home to install a new electrical outlet to replace one that had been cut away to get to the interior walls.

The team at Master Dry did a great job solving Jon's mold problems in a way that not only showed immediate results, but also gave Jon some peace of mind in knowing that preventative measures have been taken to protect his home from further damage.

Master Dry Fixes Incomplete Waterproofing Job in Louisville, TN

A couple from Louisville, TN was frustrated with a botched basement waterproofing job completed by another company. He called Master Dry to get rid of the standing water in his crawlspace and fix the problems caused by the other job.

Led by sales representative, Josh Sulfridge, Master Dry conducted a free inspection and estimate to gauge the severity of the situation and assess the appropriate cost associated with efficiently and completely solving the problem. The couple decided to go along with the project. Foreman Cory Blalock and his crew installed an EZ Flow Drainage system to help capture and properly dispose of water, Black Plastic to cover the walls and seal out moisture, and a Smart SumpPump.

Throughout the project, they eventually discovered hazardous mold that needed to be cleaned out and a solution needed to be found to prevent its further growth. After the couple learned of the situation, they agreed to have the team install a SaniDry dehumidifier to ensure that no more mold would grow in their crawlspace.

Protecting a Thrift Store's Inventory with Our SmartSump™ System in Alcoa, TN

Bernie, Brandon, and Jarbar had a basement waterproofing project at a thrift store in Alcoa, Tennessee. Rain was cascading from the metal roof and saturating the ground. The excess moisture not only permeated the porous brick, but flowed alongside the building and flooded the basement where wooden furniture was kept in storage. The owner needed a fast solution before his inventory was ruined.

To fix the problem, the Master Services team used jack hammers along the perimeter to create a pathway for our patented drainage system. In this case, the flooding was so severe that water had pooled in the pathway that the team cleared away. Next, Brandon used a jack hammer and pickaxe to create a square gap for our SmartSump™ system.

In most cases, when the area is so large and situated in such a way that flooding will be a threat, Master Services prefers to install a TripleSafe™ system, which provides three levels of protection for basement areas. The system comes with three pumps in one, with the third pump operating as a backup pump in the event of a power outage. This ensures a reliable level of security for basements to prevent flooding even if there is a power outage.

To waterproof the basement, the team layed gravel and then installed a WaterGuard® Basement Drainage System along with the SmartSump™ system. To provide further flooding protection, another layer of gravel was used to backfill the perimeter drain. The WaterGuard® liner is designed with perforations to collect water from the wall and floor, then carry it to the installed pump system and out of the basement.

To complete installation, the team restored the perimeter with an even layer of concrete. This ensured that the basement not only looked tidy, but that the drainage system would remain protected and undisturbed.

Saving a Crawlspace from Humidity and Critters in Alcoa, TN

Many homeowners think of their crawlspace as unimportant and trivial—when they think of their crawlspace at all! In the case of this Alcoa, TN crawlspace, the area was collecting moisture, and mold was beginning to creep over the wooden beams and joists. Mold not only creates rot and weakens structures, but can attract a variety of nasty pests and animals. This crawlspace needed help before it became a zoo for creepy crawlies.

To fix the crawlspace, the Master Services team installed our CleanSpace crawlspace liner. Our liner is laid over the entire area and secured tightly to ensure maximum protection. Durable, tear-resistant, and a deterrent to mold and mildew, the liner also mitigates energy costs.

With our liner in place, humidity will no longer have an opportunity to ravage this crawlspace.

Using Our Best Structural Techniques to Repair a Home in Louisville, TN

This homeowner recently moved to this home in Louisville, TN from Colorado. Almost immediately, he noticed damage to a basement wall. Stair-step cracks were forming and the brick looked bowed. He recognized that the problem may get worse if ignored, so he called out Master Services.

To fix the wall, our team used our carbon fiber reinforcement approach. This method uses a combination of epoxy resin and carbon fiber straps, which are flexible enough to adhere to any shape. The epoxy is mixed, then the straps are soaked with the mixture until fully saturated. The straps are then pressed to the wall and allowed to cure. This system provides strong, durable support and is minimally invasive. In fact, the repairs are easily concealed with paint.

The team also installed a push pier, which is driven into bedrock and affixed to the structure. This provides additional support.

With these two systems in place, there should be no further damage to this home.

Mold Remediation Project in Walland, TN

This vacation home in Walland, TN was flooding whenever the river rose. With all the heavy rain in East Tennessee, this was becoming a frequent problem for the homeowner. Too much moisture leads to mold, mildew, and rot. Once these blights are allowed to overrun a crawlspace, animals and insects will begin to move into the area. These, in turn, die and attract more critters, as well as produce unpleasant odors that create allergy and respiratory problems for residents.

To get rid of the mold, the team used our soda blasting technique. This method uses sodium bicarbonate, which is sprayed directly onto mold-infested surfaces. The soda is blasted against moldy surfaces using compressed air. Also known as “abrasive blasting,” this is one of the most effective ways to get mold out of crawlspace areas.

Installing a Crawlspace Vapor Barrier in Maryville, TN

This Maryville, TN homeowner had recently moved to the area from California. During the inspection, it was discovered that there was significant flooding in the crawlspace. The homeowner didn’t want to let the problem continue, and he was particularly worried about mold running rampant in the crawlspace.

Master Services recommended a reliable dehumidifier and encapsulation system. A dehumidifier keeps water from collecting on surfaces and creating an ideal environment for mold growth. An encapsulation system does the same, creating a barrier between moisture and areas that are vulnerable to mold and rot. The CleanSpace liner not only protects against these threats, but also mitigates radon and energy impacts.

With these two safeguards in place, this homeowner is off to a great start in his new home.

Protecting A Townsend, TN Crawlspace from Moisture

Some residents consider crawlspace encapsulation to be a waste of resources. However, an undefended crawlspace most likely will end up costing a homeowner more in the long run. Over time, water creates conditions conducive to rot, mold, mildew, and destructive pests. This Townsend, TN crawlspace needed a serious encapsulation update. The old liner was ripped, tattered, and doing little to protect the area.

The Master Services team installed our CleanSpace liner, which protects against water damage, mold, rot, and other threats. The liner comes with a 25-year warranty and is tear resistant, meaning it will hold up for years. It also offsets energy costs and radon impacts.

With our liner in place, these homeowners should have no concerns when it comes to their crawlspace.

Encapsulating a Crawlspace in Townsend, TN

Moisture is never a good thing in a below-grade space. Moisture creates the conditions for mold, mildew, wood rot, odors, and pests. Once pests move inside, they create nests and die. This creates odors that pass into the upper levels of the home to plague residents. Worse, termites are attracted to wet wood. A homeowner in Townsend was concerned about the wet conditions of his crawlspace, so he called our team for a free inspection.

We looked over the area and knew the perfect product to keep the area safe from water and related damage. We recommended our CleanSpace moisture barrier, which is carefully installed along the floor and walls of the crawlspace. The barrier prevents water from damaging the area and creating structural issues in the home.

This homeowner can stop worrying about his crawlspace now that our team has worked on it!

SmartJacks supported a floor in Maryville, TN

Amanda T. is a young homeowner in Maryville, TN. Upon purchasing her house, she noticed a problem with her warped kitchen floor. Unsure of where to begin, she reached out to Master Services for assistance. Our home inspector examined her crawlspace and found signs of decay and mold growth in the wooden beams supporting the floor. Recognizing the impact of crawlspace conditions on indoor air quality, we recommended reinforcing the floor with our reliable Smart Jacks and encapsulating the crawlspace floor with our vapor barrier. These specialized jacks provide strong support for sagging floors, particularly in basement settings, offering a lasting solution. Despite the tight space, our crew worked efficiently to implement both solutions. As a result, our customer enjoyed a more stable floor and improved indoor air quality.

Crawlspace renovated in Friendsville, TN

In Friendsville, TN, a homeowner named Greg noticed an unpleasant odor lingering in his home. After some investigation, he discovered that the source was his crawlspace, which had been encapsulated years ago with subpar materials. Over time, the inadequate encapsulation had deteriorated, allowing mold to take hold on the joists and creating an unhealthy environment beneath his home.

Concerned about the impact on his family's health and the structural integrity of his house, Greg contacted Master Services for a solution. Our home inspector conducted a thorough inspection and quickly identified the root of the problem. At the scheduled time, our production crew removed the old, deteriorated encapsulation and cleared away all debris. To prevent future issues, they sealed off the vents and installed our advanced Drainage Matting and CleanSpace liner, brightening the space and protecting it against moisture. Greg was particularly impressed by the energy savings he noticed after the installation.

To ensure that the crawlspace remained free from mold and moisture year-round, Master Services added a Sedona dehumidifier. Thanks to the comprehensive work by Master Services, Greg now has a dry, clean, and energy-efficient crawlspace that contributes to the overall comfort and safety of his home.

In Alcoa, TN, Sarah had always taken pride in maintaining her home, but the condition of her crawlspace was becoming a major concern. Living on a steep hill, she noticed that after every heavy rain, water would seep into the crawlspace, leaving it damp and causing musty odors to creep into her home. After researching local companies, she decided to call Master Services for a solution.
