This Charleston, TN resident was unhappy with structural issues in her home. Some of the floors were not in alignment with the walls, and the Master Services team suspected that settlement was to blame.
To fix the problem, the team examined the crawlspace and determined that our SmartJack® system was necessary. This durable system provides support to sagging beams, which ensures the rest of the home is stable and in alignment.
First, the team excavated 2’ square, 2’ deep holes for each SmartJack®. Next, compressed stone was poured into these holes to provide support. A footing is then placed on this area and leveled, and this step ensures that there is a secure base for the steel jack post. The jack posts are cut and measured carefully, and each is constructed with a triple-layer, in-line galvanized coating.
Next, the jack is mounted against the girder, then tightened to lift the floor back to its original position. The beauty of the SmartJack® system is that it can be adjusted or tightened in the future.
