Emily, a homeowner in Rock Spring, GA, had previously tried to encapsulate her crawlspace with cheap plastic that was poorly installed. Over time, the material tore and failed to protect her home. Concerned about the potential for moisture issues, Emily reached out to Master Services for help.
Our Home Inspector visited her property to assess the situation and determine the best solution. After a thorough inspection, he recommended an encapsulation to provide long-term protection for her crawlspace.
Our crew began by removing the old, ineffective material and preparing the crawlspace for the upgrade. The first step was installing our unique Drainage Matting. With its distinctive shape, the matting provided a sturdy cushion while redirecting any water infiltration toward the sump pump, ensuring effective drainage.
Next, we installed our CleanSpace vapor barrier to seal the crawlspace and prevent moisture from seeping in. The vents were sealed to block outside air, and we added a Sedona dehumidifier to regulate humidity levels. These measures created a dry, mold-resistant environment.
